The story of Vertical Sky® A32 started in a small garden between geraniums and Mediterranean plants. Karl Bahnmüller had built a water play area for his grandchildren and would have never suspected the consequences. Patrick Richter did not only find a water pump but also a wind turbine with a new propulsion system: the A32 wind turbine in small.
Richter realized the potential of this idea. After first calculations and tests with bigger models in a professional wind tunnel, Richter founded the start-up Agile Wind Power AG on 01st of March 2010.
The initial tinkering out of passion resulted in a sustainable business idea, which nowadays keeps a team of 25 people busy. The small model from the garden became bigger and was adapted several times before the current model of the Vertical Sky® A32 large wind turbine was developed. The picture shows Richter and Bahnmüller with a test model both still smile about today.
Since 2010 Vertical Sky® has passed several development stages during which the design of the vertical-axis wind turbine constantly changed according to the state of knowledge and development. The team designed, improved and tackled the challenges of the vertical model with a sophisticated technology. The design itself was never discussed. The photomontage symbolizes the proximity of people and turbine.
The design of the Vertical Sky® A32 large wind turbine has been decided in 2017. The green lattice tower easily fits in with the landscape (Vertical Sky® A32 at the front right side).
