The German city of Mendig almost feels like a ghost town, where our engineers arrive during the time of the corona pandemic. We have been issued a special permit, which allows us to continue building the drive train in the workshop of Multigear GmbH. Where usually dozens of workers craft amongst each other, we now work alone and are running the drive train with the help of the generator to simulate the rotation and power generation. Furthermore, we are also using this opportunity to oversee the mechanics of the transmission and the oil lubrication, as well as gaining experience working with the generator.

Thanks to meticulous preparations, the results are highly rewarding.

The construction process of the first Vertical Sky® turbine continues even under the special Covid-19 conditions. Next month, when the Real-Time Pitch Control motors (the heart of our technology) will be installed, then things will truly get going.

Meanwhile the team in Dübendorf, Switzerland and the team in Lemwerder, Germany still strictly adhere to social distancing.
