Agile Wind Power AG sets up a production site for its vertical-axis large wind turbine «Vertical Sky® A32» in Lemwerder near Bremen (Germany). As of November 01st the company uses a production hall at a former airport.

For the beginning of November, Agile Wind Power has been setting up in Hall 23 on the former airport site in Lemwerder near Bremen. The factory building in Dübendorf near Zurich was cleared down to the last screw and was packed in moving carriages.

Coming and going of trucks in front of the old workshop in Dübendorf (CH).

The loading of the rotor blade form is everything - but not a quick snap-action.

The carefully packed rotor blade form lies on the truck.

Agile Wind Power relies on the halls in Lemwerder for the production of the rotor blades. Vertical Sky® will also go into production there. In addition to the many qualified specialists in the Lemwerder area, the industrial areas are also interesting because of their direct access to international ports.

With every move, we notice what we have, and the order is replaced by a temporarily ordered chaos.

Electrical equipment - with the same amount of socket adapters for German - hopefully.
Everything placed in sequence of loading.

Left: Alone one truck for the machines and the tool. Right: Base of the rotor blade.

Two special trucks with onboard cranes stabilize the rotor blade, while it is prepared for packing. The forklift packs smaller forms and load them on the truck.

Like ocotpus arms, the cranes slide into the hall over the boxes, which are directed to the move.
The first packed truck is waiting further down the street. The ride starts when the boxes are stowed in the second truck.

Loading the form - hidden on the front, left of the forklift, a colleague gives instructions on how many centimeters are still missing.

Is it a farewell? Definitely. The history of the development of Vertical Sky® technology is closely linked to the location in Dübendorf. Two years ago a two-man team started with only a tool box in a much too large hall and built a test laboratory. It took less than a year for the pitch gearbox test bench to occupy a substantial part of the hall and to go into certification process. At the same time, the first tests were carried out for rotor blade production. A toolkit would have moved quickly. Today we need 14 trucks. Obviously it was done a lot of work!

After abandoning the large Dübendorfer Hall, the research and development team is newly established in a smaller (and warmer) development laboratory with an experimental workshop. Vertical Sky® technology remains in Switzerland.

Finally, the smaller pieces of furniture, neatly stacked and tagged.
On the second evening, two more trucks leave Dübendorf in the direction of Lemwerder.

Touching - two tightly-knit desks await their departure.

Good-bye and good luck in Lemwerder.

Lemwerder - this is where Vertical Sky® goes into series production.
Nice weather pictures will be submitted later - it is currently gray, foggy and cold.

Almost 900 km later, the rotor blade form reaches Lemwerder.

The move is finished, the trucks roll and arrive at the future production site in Lemwerder. Parts of the Swiss team support the local German colleagues. Two new employees were hired. Agile Wind Power is now preparing to build the Vertical Sky® rotor.

Huge hall with surprisingly "small" trucks.

A lot of work and every hand is needed.
